JOB DESCRIPTION
Pluto's analysts team is seeking an equity analyst to analyze financial data and public records of companies, and use this analysis to determine the value of the company's stock and to predict the company's future financial picture. This job is focused heavily on research and analysis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide traders with real-time news analysis, including potential impact.
• Assist with the upkeep of a database of events and option price inputs.
• Create scenarios for both short and medium-term stock shifting events.
• Generate investment ideas based on fundamental research and deep knowledge of sector trends and business models.
• Option information, such as a knowledge of the Greeks, is advantageous.
• The ability to work well in a fast-paced, competitive setting.
• A desire to work in a group setting is required.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• 3-5 years of experience as an equity analyst/associate (preferably on the sell-side or in a trading environment).
• Experience in one or more of the following industries is advantageous: healthcare, biotech, finance, energy, or manufacturing.
• Comfortable dealing with incomplete data, relying on quantitative data when available but able to enhance with qualitative knowledge.
• Python, R, or Matlab programming experience is a bonus.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with strong attention to detail.
• The ability to work well in a fast-paced, competitive setting.
• A desire to work in a group setting is required.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
